The final match of the Sailors National Under-15 Football Championship between Narayanganj District and Feni District was washed out on Wednesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium due to inclement weather.
The match will now be held on September 12 at the same venue after Bangladesh’s home match of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against stronger Jordan on September 8 at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The tournament committee postponed the final prior to match start following continuous rainfall in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country.
Earlier, Feni District reached the final with all-win record eliminating Dhaka District by 5-4 goals in sudden death session of tie-breaker as the semifinal match between them was locked in a goalless position in stipulated 90-minute at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
Narayanganj District booked a seat for the final with unbeaten run eliminating Sylhet District also by 5-4 goals in penalty shootout as the semifinal match between two teams was locked in 1-1- at the same venue on Sunday.
Eight zonal champion teams from initially participated 61 districts are taking part in the final round from August 23 at Bangabandhu National Stadium and Dhanmondi Abahani ground respectively.
The tournament offered a prize money of Tk 2 lakh for the champions and Tk 1 lakh for the runners-up team in addition to trophy and medals.
