The 34th National Sub-Junior (Under-16) Chess Championship began on Saturday at Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) hall-room in the city.
KM Shahidullah, vice president of BCF, formally inaugurated the meet as chief guest. A total of 61 players from Dhaka and different districts across the country are participating in the meet, organised by BCF.
In the day’s first round game, Anata beat Divyjoyti Bala, Fahad beat Enam Faraz, Kingshuk defeated Fahmida, Subrata outplayed Israt Jahan Diba.
The 2nd round games start today (Sunday) at 3pm at the same venue.
