National science fest begins at JU today

A two-day long “National Science Festival-2018” began at the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Friday with the slogan “Be Innovative, Make Innovative’.
Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), a science-based social organisation of the university, organised the festival for the second time in a row.
Chief coordinator on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) affairs at the Prime Minister’s office Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the festival at the Zahir Raihan auditorium premises at about 11 am.
Abul Kalam Azad said, “Bangladesh is still now backward in science and technologies comparing with other developing countries. The new generation will have to stress for research and innovation of modern science to uplift the society and the nation.”
Presided over by President of the JUSC Shariyar Kabir Shohag, Treasurer Professor Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq and Adviser of the club Prof Khabir Uddin addressed the inaugural session as special guests, among others.
A total of 10 universities, 20 colleges and 30 schools are taking part at
the festival.
The two-day festival features poster presentations, project exposing and
quiz contests for university-level students and idea contests, robotic
workshops and project presentations for the school and college-level
students.
The festival will conclude today.
