The Walton National School-College Taekwondo Competition begins tomorrow at the gymnasium of National Sports Council (NSC).
Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation will arrange the three-day long Taekwondo meet under auspices of Walton Group.
To mark the forthcoming taekwondo competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of NSC on Sunday. President of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF) Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal, Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of BTF Mahmudul Islam Rana were present at the conference, among others.
The competition will be held in ten categories for Girls’ Group and the meet will be held in ten categories for Boys’ Group.
The weight categories are: -33 kg, -35 kg, -40 kg, -45 kg, -50 kg, -55 kg, -60 kg, -65 kg, -70 kg and 70+ kg.
A total of 800 participants will take part in the competition. Of them, 350 boys and 450 girls.
The school and colleges from Dhaka, Bandarban, Sylhet, Gazipur, Cox’s Bazar, Comilla, Khagrachari, Chittagong, Brahmanbaria, Sirajganj, Rajshahi, Natore, Bogra, Narsingdi and Narayanganj will participate in the meet.
