National Mourning Day observed at JnU

The National Mourning Day and 41st Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed at Jagannath University (JnU) on August 15 amid various programmes.
The teachers, officials, and students of the university led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mijanur Rahman placed floral wreath wearing black badge at the portrait of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi at around 8:00 am.
Marking the day, a discussion meeting on Bangabandhu’s life and works and a milad mahfil was held at the Language Martyr Rafique Building at around 10am on the campus arranged by the university unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) where VC Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman was present as the Chief Guest and Treasurer Md Selim Bhuiyan was present as the special guest.
The national flag was kept at half-mast atop all buildings and black flags were hoisted in front of the Administrative Building.
JnU Teachers Association General Secretary Nur E Alam Abdullah, Pro-Awami League Teachers Association President Ienul Islam, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Proctor Dr Noor Mohammad, Chief Engineer Sukumar Chandra Saha, among others, spoke in the programme.
JnU unit BCL President FM Shariful Islam presided over and General Secretary SM Sirajul Islam conducted the programme.
