The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia observed the National Mourning Day and 39th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Friday with due respect and befitting manner.
Marking the day, a mourning procession was brought out in the morning on the campus led by IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Hakim Sarker. The procession started from the administration building premises and ended at central auditorium after parading the campus.
Later, a condolence meeting was held at central auditorium of the university. IU VC Professor Dr Abdul Hakim Sarker was present as the chief guest with convener of the function Prof Dr M Mamunur Rahman in the chair.
IU Pro-VC Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, IUTA President Prof Dr Abul Ahsan Chaudhury, Registrar Dr M Moslem Uddin, Proctor Prof Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, Students’ Advisor Prof Dr M Anowar Hossain, Bangabandhu Parishad Secretary Prof Dr Ruhul K.M Saleh, Shapla Forum President Dr M Mahbubul Arefin, hall Provosts, chairmen of various departments, BCL leaders and activists, among others, were present at the meeting.
