The National Mourning Day and the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in this divisional city and its adjoining districts Monday with due respect and solemnity.
 The day was observed with a fresh vow to materialize the dreams of Bangabandhu to build a ‘Sonar Bangla’ and to bring back the fugitive convicted killers of Bangabandhu to execute verdict of the murder case.
Gazipur Correspondent says: Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has observed the 47th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day on Monday with profound respect.
 A day-long programme was arranged to commemorate the day. The day’s programmes were begun with half-mast the national flag in front of the BARI Headquarters. BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker with other directors of the institute laid wreaths at the portrait of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Scientists, officers, teachers, staff, and labors of the institute were present on the occasion.
The day’s programmes also included biographical discussion on Bangabandhu and his family, documentary exhibition, recitation from holy Quran, special prayers and Milad Mahfil.
In the morning, a biographical discussion on Bangabandhu and his family was held in front of BARI headquarters. BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker, Director (Support & Services) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Director (Research) Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam, Director (Planning & Evaluation) Dr. Apurba Kanti Chowdhury, Director (Training & Communication) Dr. Ferdousi Islam, Director (Oilseed Research) Dr. Md. Abdul Latif Akanda were addressed the program. Representatives of BARI Scientist Association, Diploma Krishibid Parishad, BARI Employees Welfare Association, BARI Labors Club also addressed the function.
Tangail Correspondent reports: The 47th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day were celebrated at Tangail through various programmes. At the beginning of the day on Monday. Tangail DC Dr. Md. Ataul Gani paid his respect by placing a bouquet to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Public Service Square in front of the District Administration Office.
After that, District Awami League President Fazlur Rahman Khan Faroque and General Secretary Brave freedom fighter Joaherul Islam (VP Joaher) MP, Member of Parliament for Tangail-5 (Sadar) Constituency Sanwar Hossain, Superintendent of Police Sarkar Mohammad Qaiser, on behalf of the district police, President of Tangail Press club Zafor Ahmed and officials of various government departments paid their respects.
After that, offerings were also made by various political, social and cultural organizations including District Awami League, Tangail Municipality, Tangail Press Club and Jubo League with due honour and respect. Finally, prayers were offered for the eternal peace of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Gazipur (Sadar) Correspondent reports: Gazipur 63 BGB ( Bangladesh Border Guard) distributed food items to the needy on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day of the great architect of freedom, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Monday .
The food items were rice, dal, oil, sugar and potatoes among more than two hundred distressed poor and helpless people at Rudrapur School ground of Bhawagarh Union of Gazipur Sadar Upazila.
 BGB Captain Gazipur Battalion 63 BGB Lt. Col. Ibrahim Farooq BG BM, ASC was present as the chief guest at the food distribution event.
 He said that besides peace, harmony, development and border protection of the area, BGB has always been helping the helpless. Such assistance will continue in the future as well.
Staff Reporter, (Kishoreganj) reports: The National Mourning Day and 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed on Monday with a fresh vow to bring back the convicted killers of Bangabandhu to the execute their conviction.
Bangabandhu and most of his family members were brutally killed by some disgruntled military men on the fateful night of August, 15,1975 and this carnage is touted as the ugliest chapter of the nation ‘s history.
An elaborate programme was held.
The programme includes hosting of National flag half- most, raising black flag , placing wreaths, discussion meeting , art competition of Children, Doa Mahfil and film exhibition.
Kishoreganj District Administration., Police, the ruling Awami League( AL), Press Club, Ganatantree Party, JASOD , Freedom Fighters, and social -cultural organisations have arranged many programmes marking the Mourning Day.
 A discussion meeting was held at Art Council Auditorium on Monday morning.
Awami League( AL) leader Dr.Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi MP attended as the Chief Guest while DC in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam presided over the function.
Additional DIG Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar), Zilla Parishad Administrator and District Awami League President advocate Zillur Rahman, Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr. Saiful Islam, District Awami League General Secretary , Special PP Advocate M.A. Afzal and Mayor Pervez Miah were attended as Special guests.
It was addressed among others Sadar Upazila chairman Abdullah al Mamun Khan, Freedom Fighter Ex.Unit Commander Md. Asadullah, District Awami League Joint Secretary syed Ashfaqul Islam Tito and Ganatantree Party presidium member Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmick Dholon.
