The National Legal-Aid Day- 2017 was observed in Kishoreganj District on Friday. District Legal-Aid Committee arranged a colourful rally, discussion and Legal-Aid Mela marking the Day.
A discussion meeting organised by District Legal-Aid Committee was held at Judge Court Conference Room. Senior District and Session Judge Mohammad Mahbubul-ul Islam presided over the meeting.
It was addressed among others by District Special Judge (Women & Children) Awlad Hossain Bhuiyan, Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdus Salam Khan, Police Super Md. Anwar Hossain Khan, Zila Parished Chariman Adv Zillur Rahman, Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, Additional District Megistrate Md. Sylhet Correspondent reports: National Legal Aid Day-2017 was celebrated in Sylhet district as elsewhere in the country on Friday with a call to stand beside the distressed to conduct their cases smoothly to get fair justice by the courts.
Sylhet District judgeship, magistracy and District Legal Aid celebration committee jointly chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the day.
In the morning, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the district judge court and ended at the same venue after parading different streets of Sylhet court. city and Sessions Judge Akbor Hussain Mrida formally inaugurated the rally as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said the district legal aid committee formed by the government has been playing a significant role for the last few years in ensuring fair justice of the distressed people of all the 13 upazilas and 27 wards of Sylhet City Corporation. They also stressed the need for standing beside the distressed of the society on humanitarian ground and helping them always conduct their cases smoothly to get fair justice timely by the courts.
