The National Jute Day-2019 will be observed today throughout the country aiming to promote jute goods for regaining the lost glory of the golden fibre.
This year’s slogan is “Golden country of golden fibre (Sonali Asher Sonar Desh), Father of the Nation’s Bangladesh (Jatir Pitar Bangladesh).”
The main function of the National Jute Day will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) and a two-day jute goods fair today.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the inaugural function as the chief guest of the National Jute Day.
As part of observance of the National Jute Day, elaborate programmes – including bringing out rallies, discussions and holding publicity campaign -decorating the city streets with jute goods-have been taken aiming to create awareness among the people.
