The Walton Air Conditioner 30th National Junior Athletics Competition begins today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) will arrange the two-day long athletics meet under auspices of Walton.
Above 400 girls and boys from 64 district sports associations, seven divisional sports associations, different education boards and BKSP will take part in the athletics competition.
To mark the upcoming athletics meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, General Secretary of Bangladesh Athletics Federation Ibrahim Chengis, Additional Director of Walton M Mahmudul Haque, Vice-President of BAF Md Shah Alam were present at the conference.
Deputy-Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Badal Roy will formally open the meet today as the chief guest while Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don will be present with him as the special guest.
The athlete, who can break the national record, will be awarded by Walton. Besides, Bangladesh Athletics Federation will give Tk 5,000 each to the new national record holder athlete.
