The Walton Refrigerator National 13th Intermediate & 1st Women’s Junior Boxing Competition starts today at the Muhammad Ali Boxing Stadium, which adjacent to the Paltan Maidan.
Bangladesh Amateur Boxing Federation has arranged the boxing meet while Walton is the title sponsor of the boxing competition.
A total of 150 boxers from divisional sports associations, district sports associations, services teams and different clubs will take part in the four-day long boxing meet.
The weight categories of Intermediate Division are: 46 kg, 49 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg and 69 kg. The weight categories of Women’s Junior Division are: 36 kg, 40 kg, 45 kg, 50 kg and 55 kg.
Regarding this boxing competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Amateur Boxing Federation MA Quddus Khan, Executive Director of RB Group Md Humayun Kabir, Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and Administrator of Bangabandhu National Stadium Md Yahia.
Today Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP will inaugurate the boxing competition as the chief guest while Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Actor Masum Parvez Rubel, Sports Ambassador of Walton Jobera Rahman Linu will be with him as special guests. General Secretary of Bangladesh Boxing Federation MA Quddus Khan will be present at the time.
