National Insurance Day 2021 is being observed in the country today in a befitting manner with the theme ‘Mujib Borsher Ongikar, Bima Hok Sobar’.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present as the chief guest at the main event of the day at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Monday. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will preside over the function.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have given separate statements on the occasion of the day on Sunday.
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman joined Alpha Insurance Company of Pakistan on March 1, 1960. At the request of IDRA, the government declared March 1 as National Insurance Day to commemorate the day of Bangabandhu’s entry into the insurance sector.
It is to be mentioned that Bangabandhu Bima Mela 2021 on March 1 and 2 has been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
