The ATN Bangla Gold Cup 30th National Hockey Competition starts on November 5 at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) and ATN Bangla Limited will jointly arrange the gala hockey meet.
Regarding the forthcoming hockey competition, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Saturday. Acting General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Anvir Adil Khan, Chairman and Managing Director of ATN Bangla Limited Dr Mahfuzur Rahman spoke at the conference.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation and ATN Bangla Limited signed a five-year contract. According to the agreement, ATN Bangla Limited will give TK 20 lakh to BHF every year.
ATN Bangla will telecast the inaugural match live from the Stadium. ATN Bangla will also telecast the important matches of the meet live from the big bowl.
A total of 13 teams splitting into four groups will take part in the first phase of Dhaka Venue.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Sylhet District team, Comilla District team are in Group A, Chittagong District team, Mymensingh District team, Patuakhali District team, Habeganj District team are in Group B, Bangladesh Navy, Narayanganj District team, Barisal District team are in Group C, Rajshahi Divisional team, Bangladesh Police, Kushtia District team are in Group D.
A number of six teams dividing into two groups will participate in the first phase of Rajshahi Venue.
Rajshahi District team, Joypurhat District team, Chuadanga District team are in Group A while Dinajpur District team, Satkhira District team, Panchagarh District team are in Group B.
Top one team from six groups and the top four teams of 8th Bangladesh Games will play in the final round.
Bangladesh Army, Dhaka District team, Faridpur District team, BKSP, the top four teams of 8th Bangladesh games will compete in the final round in Dhaka.
10 teams splitting into two groups will take part in the final round.
Top two teams from each group will get tickets of the semifinals.
The winners of the two semifinals will face each other in the final.
The champions will be awarded Tk fifty thousand while the runners-up will be given Tk thirty thousand. Besides, the best player of the tournament, the highest scorer of the competition and the best promising player of the meet will get playing gears.
