The First National Gensiriu Karate Competition began at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday. The First National Jujutsu Competition also started on the same day.
President of Bangladesh Jujutsu Association and Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Golam Faruque Khondker Prince inaugurated the competitions. General Secretary of Bangladesh Jujutsu Association Dr Md Rafiqul Islam Newton, Lion Nadira Ahsan were present at the time.
Today District Governor of Lions Club International MK Bashar will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
A total of 250 karatekas from different district sports associations, universities, colleges, schools are taking part in the competitions.
