National Digital Bangladesh Day to be observed on Dec 12

The 5th ‘National Digital Bangladesh Day-2021’ will be observed on December 12 through various programmes in the country and Bangladesh embassies abroad.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Digital Bangladesh-er Orjon, Upokrito Sokol Jonogon.’ State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Thursday informed about the celebration in a press conference at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium at ICT Tower in city’s Agargaon area, according to a press release.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend in the main programme at Hall of Fame of Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city on the day as the chief guest, he said.
The programmes on the day will include bringing out supplements in national dailies highlighting the successes and achievements of twelve years in building a Digital Bangladesh, holding online quiz competition centrally, arranging meetings and seminars, holding essay writing, poetry recitation and painting competitions based on Digital Bangladesh in districts and upazilas across the country and distributing Digital Bangladesh Award 2021 among persons, organizations and entrepreneurs.
To mark the day, the day long programme will start with paying homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait at Dhanmondi 32 in the city at 7 am.
Besides, a colorful rally will be held at 8:00 am, maintaining the social distancing, from the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad to the Khamarbari mor here while the national seminar will be held at BICC’s Hall of Fame at around 3 pm.
A five-hour long Digital Bangladesh Concert will be arranged at United International University, United City, Madani in city’s Badda area at 3 pm.
