The two-day-long ‘National Cultural Competition 2016’ with the participation of students from government and non- government schools countrywide ended on Saturday .
A total of 1,560 winners stood 1st and 2nd taking part in the national competition held on May 13 and 14.
A total of 2 lakh 65 thousand participants competed in 11 categories from schools in 489 upazilas of the 64 districts, including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong and Khulna cities.
The categories were Folk song, Rabindra Song, Nazrul Song, Chorus Song / Song on Liberation War, Children Recitation( Solo), Rabindra – Nazrul Dance ( Solo),Dance ( Creative section and General Section), Classical Dance,Acting ( Solo and Duet).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed overthe awards and certificates to the winners.Director General of Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy (BSA) Liaquat AliLucky briefed about the programme at a press conference held at the seminar room of National Art Gallery of BSA on May 12.
