Delwar’s 6-wicket secures emphatic win for Rajshahi

A six-wicket haul by Delwar Hossain helped Rajshahi Division to earn an overwhelming an innings and 13 runs victory over Chittagong Division in the tier-2 four-day 19th National Cricket League held on Monday at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
Chittagong Division resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Monday) with overnight score at 109 for 3 and lost their remaining seven wickets for only 16 runs as they were cheaply dismissed for a paltry total of 130.
Despite a poor total, opener Sadikur Rahman with 48, Tasamul Haque with 32 and Sazzadul Haque with unbeaten 21 were the three Chittagong batsmen to reach the double figure mark.
The wrecker in-chief of Rajshahai was none other than the pacer Delwar Hossain, who hogged the headline with the incredible figure of 6-23.
Farhar Reza with 2 for 44, Shariful Islam 1-27 and Saqlain Mustaq 1 for 24 were the other wicket takers for Rajshahi Division.
Earlier, in the first innings, Delwar collected three Chittagong’s scalp for 69 runs. Later Delwar was adjudged as the man of the match for his nine wickets haul in this match for 92 runs.
Earlier, Chittagong were bowled out in their first innings for 260 and in reply Rajshahi Division amassed 403.
Dhaka-Rangpur 4-day match ends in a draw

The tier-1 four-day match of 19th National Cricket League (NCL) between Dhaka Division and Rangpur Division finally ended in a draw held on Monday at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Dhaka Division resumed their first innings on the fourth day (Monday) afternoon with overnight score at 295 for 6 and finally dismissed at 321, in reply to a Rangpur Division’s first innings total of 560.
Shuvagato Hom (67), Minhaj Khan (62) and Rakibul Hasan (51), all three batsmen, scored half centuries for Dhaka.
Being forced to follow on by Rangpur Division, Dhaka Division went bat in the second innings on the fourth day afternoon and scored 85 for 1 at stumps.
Opener Abdul Majid contributed an unbeaten knock of 52 runs while Minhaj Khan was remained not out with 23 as the bails were drawn for the day.
Mahmudul Hasan took one wicket for 28 run for Rangpur.
Naeem Islam of Rangpur Division was named the player of the match for his impressive double tons in the first innings.
Rabbi denies Khulna’s victory

Skipper Fazle Rabbi scored a magnificent ton to denied Khulna’s victory when Barisal Division forced it to share point as the tier-1 four-day match of 19th National Cricket League (NCL) ended in a draw
on Monday at Sheikh Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
Despite the draw Khulna Divivison remained top of the table with 16 points while bottom-ranked Barisal Division bagged 8 points after the completion of fifth round.
Being forced to follow on by Khulna Division, Barisal Division resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Monday) with overnight score at 80 for 1 and scored 296 for 5 at stumps.
Rabbi played a responsible knock by 107 off 237 balls laced with 12 boundaries before being trapped leg before wicket (LBW) by Moinul Islam delivery.
He also shared 177 runs second wicket partnership with Rafsan Al Mahmud who contributed 85.
Later, Sohag Gazi (68 n.o)) and Nuruzzaman (19) added 64-run fifth wicket partnership ensure Barisal’s further damage and snatched creditable point.
Anamul Haque, Moinul Islam, Nahidul Islam and Al Amin Hossain shared one wicket each for Khulna.
Earlier, Barisal Division dismissed their first innings at 296 in reply to a Khulna Division’s first innings total of 511.
Ziaur Rahman of Khulna Division was named the player of the match for his impressive bating performance.
Enamul’s 5-wicket set up 1st win for Sylhet

A five-wicket haul by Enamul Haque Jr helped Sylhet Division to record their first win in the 19th National Cricket League (NCL) beating Dhaka Metropolis by a massive 190 runs in the fifth round four-day match held on Monday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Chasing a massive winning target of 324 set by Sylhet, Dhaka Metropolis found the chase stiff and cheaply dismissed at a paltry total of 133 with Elias Sunny’s top scored unbeaten 37 runs.
Apart from Enamul Haque’s 5-63 runs, Shahanur Rahman grabbed 4-30.

Earlier, Sylhet Division resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Monday) with overnight score at 176 for 8 and finally declared their innings 263 for 9, setting a winning target of 324 runs, after Dhaka Metropolis were dismissed their first innings at 259 in reply to a Sylhet Division’s first innings total of 319.
