National Cooperatives Day observed

The 45th National Cooperatives Day was observed in Narsingdi district as else where in the country on Saturday.
Organised by district and Sadar upazila Cooperatives office and district Cooperatives union, Narsingdi,the department of Cooperatives has chalked out various programmes to observe the Day in a befitting manner.
The programme include rally, hoisting of National and Cooperatives flag, discussion meeting, distribution of prizes among the best cooperatives and cultural function.
A colourful rally led by State Minister for water Resources Lt Colonel (Retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro MP was brought out from Zonal Cooperatives Training Institutes and paraded the main roads of the town.
After the rally a discussion meeting with the them of the day ” Philosophy of Cooperatives is sustainable development” was held at the auditorium of Zonal Cooperatives Institute.
State Minister for Water Resources Lt Colonel (Retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro MP (Birpratik) addressed the meeting as chief guest with chair of the president of District Cooperatives Union, Narsingdi, Advocate Nazrul Islam.
BSS from Faridpur adds: 45th National Cooperative Day, a part of the countrywide programme was observed here on Saturday in a befitting manner through colorful rally and discussion meeting.
In this connection a rally jointly organized by district administration, cooperative department and cooperative unions were brought out in the town and ended at kabi Jasimuddin hall where the National flag and Cooperative flags were hoisted to mark the day.
The rally was followed by a discussion meeting which was chaired by Shaikh Faez Ahmed while Md. Abdur Rashid, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Faridpur Zilla Parishad was the chief guest.
Abul Kalam Azad, principal of regional cooperative training institute, BRDB deputy director Forhad Hossain, district cooperative officer Akhirul Alom, Awami League leader Abdur Razzak Molla and central cooperative society president Yunus Sikdar were the special guests.
Speakers addressing the gathering stressed the need for strengthening cooperative movement in the district to achieve sustainable development in the economy. They said that cooperative movement is a very old one and through this movement and successfully operating this system many countries of the world have achieved tremendous success.
If we can successfully operate this system lot of the poorer section of the people will be changed.
The discussion was attended by a large number cooperative society members and unions.
At the end of the discussion crests were given to three best cooperative operators and three best cooperative unions of the district.
