The Marcel National (Men’s & Women’s) Boxing Competition begins today at the Muhammad Ali Boxing Stadium.
The weight categories for Men’s Division are: 49 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg, 64 kg, 69 kg and 75 kg.
The weight categories for Women’s Division are: 51 kg, 60 kg and 75 kg.
Director General of Anti Corruption Commission Brigadier General (Retd) HM Salahuddin will formally open the boxing meet today as the chief guest while First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ashiqur Rahman Miku, First Senior Assistant Director of Marcel Rabiul Hasan Sumon will be with him as special guests. Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Additional Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sheikh Md Maruf Hasan will be present at the opening ceremony.
President of Bangladesh Amateur Boxing Federation Dr Khandker Shawkat Hossain will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
