The Highway Asia Pacific Association (HAPA) National Baseball Championship will begin tomorrow (Friday) at the Paltan Maidan.
Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association will arrange the baseball competition under auspices of HAPA.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the two-day long handball meet. Top two teams from each group will get tickets of the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will face each other in the final.
Dhaka Division team, Rajshahi Division team, Rangpur Division team, Khulna Division team. Chittagong Division team, Sylhet Division team, Barisal Division team and a services team will compete in the baseball tournament.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will formally open the baseball competition tomorrow as the chief guest.
Regarding the upcoming baseball tournament, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Wednesday.
President of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association (BBSA) Md Solaiman, General Secretary of BBSA Aminul Islam Liton and Japanese Coach Heroki Watanabe were present at the conference, among others.
The champions and the runners-up will get trophies and medals.
