Teer ninth National Archery Championship will begin today (Tuesday) at the Archery Training Center, Martyr Ahasanullah Master Stadium, Gazipur, said a Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) press release.
Zahid Ahasan Russell, MP, chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry, is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest. City Group executive director Shoyedb M Asaduzzaman will present as special guest.
A total of 142 participants (recurve division men’s 64 and women’s 26 and compound division men’s 31 and women’s 21) from 32 teams are taking part in the four-day meet, sponsored by City Group and organised by BAF.
The competition event included compound division men’s singles and team event and women’s singles and team event and mixed team events.
In this regard, a press conference was held on Monday at the conference room of National Sports Council to provide all the details of the meet.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal, Senior Deputy Brand Manager of City Group Rubaiyat Ahmed, BAF vice-president Anisur Rahman Dipu were present, among others, on the occasion.
