The Grameenphone 7th National Archery Championship begins today at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Banani.
Bangladesh Archery Federation has arranged the archery meet while Grameenphone is the title sponsor of the competition.
A total of 61 teams will participate in the four-day long archery meet. A number of 310 archers (181 men & 129 women) will compete in the archery competition.
The divisions of the archery championships are: Bamboo Division, Recurve Division and Compound Division.
Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP will inaugurate the archery competition as the chief guest.
The budget of the competition is Tk 40,22, 500 and Grammenphone has given all the money to Bangladesh Archery Federation to run the competition smoothly.
The first place achiever, the second place winner, the third place earner of each event will be awarded gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal respectively.
The archery competition will come to an end on June 27. Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest on the concluding day.
