Nasrul wants Swedish help for renewable energy

Bangladesh wants to utilise Swedish experience in developing renewable energy sector, especially solar power generation.
State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid said it seeking Swedish assistance at a meeting with Swedish Minister for Policy Coordination and Energy Ibrahim Baylan in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, on Friday.
A Bangladesh delegation led by Nasrul Hamid is now visiting different energy projects in Sweden, said a Power and Energy Ministry press release.  
“We want to utilise Swedish experience in renewable energy sector, as the Nordic nation has set a model in maximum per capita power consumption with minimum carbon emission,” Nasrul said.
The State Minister also sought Swedish cooperation to develop human resources.
He also discussed different issues, including transmission and distribution system of power, cost effective power generation, and power load management during the meeting.
Swedish Minister Ibrahim welcomed the delegation and said, Bangladesh and Sweden can work together in the fields of renewable energy and waste management.
The Minister also gave assurance to extend the cooperation to train Bangladeshi manpower.
