Newly -elected Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said, none will be excused if anyone commits corruption in the city corporation .
He said, every official should be responsible and dutiful during office hour .He also cautioned against officials who counts only office hours from 9 am to 5pm which will be allowed further without any output. City mayor disclosed it while addressing the officials of the Revenue Department of the Corporation at Theatre Institute Hall in city on Monday . He disclosed in the meeting that only 35 days left for this fiscal and there are huge outstanding of taxes, holding taxes , revenues to beneficiaries. He called upon the revenue officials to collect the huge outstanding immediately. In the meeting, new mayor took accounts of the total outstanding updated. City mayor asked the chief revenue office of CCC to submit the final list of purchases of lands in the name of the corporation till today by the previous mayors. He said CCC would like to entangle with any mitigation through purchasing the forged documented lands. About battery run rickshaws, he said a solution to this effect will be resolved very shortly. Chief executive officer of CCC Shafiul Alam presided over the meeting .
Among others, personal secretary of mayor Manzoor islam, Panel mayor Md. Hossain, Secretary Rashid Ahmed and CRO Ahmedul Hoque also spoke in it, a CCC release said.
