A court of Dhaka court yesterday afternoon placed Uttara Club Limited’s former President Nasir U Mahmud and his alleged accomplice Tuhin Siddiqui Omi on a five-day remand in an attempted rape and murder case.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Dhaka Rajib Hasan passed the order on Wednesday afternoon after Investigation Officer Md Kamal Hossain, an Inspector of Savar Police Station, produced the two accused with a 10-day remand prayer in the case.
Actress Pori Moni filed the case with Savar Police Station against Nasir, who
is also a real-estate businessman and Presidium Member of Jatiya Party, Omi and four others on June 14.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Police conducted a raid at a house in Uttara Sector-1 and arrested Nasir and Omi.
Earlier, on June 16, Harun Or Rashid, Joint Commissioner of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said ‘During interrogation, they both confessed to slapping Pori Moni’. Besides, what happened in the Boat Club and who committed what roles were recorded by CC cameras.
A day earlier, on June 15, the CMM Court of Dhaka placed businessman Nasir and his accomplice Tuhin Siddiui Omi on a seven-day remand each in case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
