Nasir Hossain hit a magnificent ton and a six-wicket haul by Abu Haider enabled Gazi Group Cricketers to record a massive 177-run win over Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the second round super league match of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Saturday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.
Chasing a massive winning target of 351 runs set by Gazi Group, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club found the chase stiff and finally all out for 173 in 38.1 overs.
Middle order batsman Ziaur Rahman top scored 46 runs followed by opener Prashant Chopra (37), Abdullah Al Mamun (25) and Raji Saleh (25).
Apart from Abu Haider’s six wickets for 35 runs Gurkeerat Singh bagged two wickets giving away 27 runs.
Earlier, Gazi Group Cricketers, rode on Nasir Hossain’s hit breezy ton, piled up a massive
total of 350 runs after being put into bat by Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.
Nasir scored a 113-ball 134 runs, an innings that contained seven boundaries and six sixes while Mominul Haque supported him with 66 runs.
The fifth-wicket partnership of 147 runs from 21.3 overs between Gurkeerat Singh and Nasir propelled Gazi towards the massive total.
Gurkeerat scored 74 from 60 balls while Nasir’s innings ended after he retired hurt for 134.
Ziaur Rahman and Elias Sunny took two wickets apiece for Sheikh Jamal.
Nasir Hossain of Gazi group was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
