A five-wicket haul by Nasir Hossain powered Sylhet Sixers to earn a resounding 10-wicket victory over Chittagong Vikings in their match of the AKS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Sunday.
Sylhet Sixers collected nine points from 11 matches, while Chittagong Vikings earned five points from as many outings.
Nasir Hossain bowled extremely well and finished his superb spell as 4-0-31-5.
Nabil Samad and Sharifullah gave support to Nasir Hossain to dismiss Chittagong Vikings for a paltry total. Nabil Samad grabbed three wickets at the cost of seven runs, while Sharifullah bagged a pair of wickets for 23 runs.
Batting first Chittagong Vikings were shot out for 67 off 12 overs.
In reply, Sylhet Sixers romped home making 68 for the loss of none when they had nine overs to spare.
Mohammad Rizwan of Sylhet Sixers remained unbeaten with 36. His 33-ball innings was laced with six fours, while Andre Fletcher remained unbeaten with 32. His 34-ball knock was ornamented with four fours and a sixer.
Earlier, Irfan Sukkur, Luis Reece and Stiaan van Zyl were the batsmen of Chittagong Vikings who could reach double-digit figures scoring 15, 12 and 11 runs respectively.
Nasir Hossain of Sylhet Sixers was adjudged the Man of the Match.
