Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim got stuck in a lift for over 20 minutes due to technical fault at Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday.
The incident occured around 3:30pm when the Health Minister, his
assistant personal secretary and Pro-vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, were getting down from the office.
On information, members of Fire Service and Civil Defence and Public Works Department rushed to the spot and rescued them after breaking the door of the lift, the source added.
Senior Station Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Department Md Abdul Jalil said the fire service team rescued Minister along with many others. Electric problem could lead the incident, he said.
Information Officer of the ministry Parikshit Chowdhury said the Minister got stuck when he was getting down from his office (4th floor) for going to Mental Health Institute.
