Nasim for reducing drugs prices

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Saturday urged the pharmaceutical companies to reduce the prices of drugs so that common people of the country can afford it.”I am requesting to the owners of the pharmaceutical companies to cut down the prices of medicines so people of middle income can afford the cost of drugs easily,” he said.
The minister was addressing a views-exchange meeting with officials of ‘One Pharma’ pharmaceutical company at the conference room of Commerce Ministry at Secretariat here.
“Currently, Bangladesh is exporting medicines to over 151 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Germany, USA, France, Italy, UK, Canada, The Netherlands and Denmark as we are producing good quality of drugs,” Nasim said.
“Once Bangladesh used to import most of the drugs what we needed, but now situation has changed over the last two decades,” he added. Managing Director of One Pharma KSM Mostafizur Rahman presided over the function while Secretary to the Medical Education and Family Welfare G M Saleh Uddin, Director General (DG) at Directorate General of Drug Administration Major General M Mustafizur Rahman and DG of health services Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad were present, among others.
