A Union Parishad (UP) chairman was killed in a motorcycle accident at Polerghat area in Pakundia Upazila of Kishoreganj on Friday evening. The victim was identified as
Nasiruddin Khan (52), Chairman of Amirganj Union Parishad (UP) and Local Awami league leader of Narsingdi’s Raipura upazila. One of his assistants named Rajib Saha on the same motorcycle was seriously.
According to family members said on Friday evening, Chairman Nasir Uddin was going on a motorcycle with his assistant Rajib Saha (28) to inspect a construction site of his contractor in Pakundia of Kishoreganj. An unidentified vehicle believed to have crushed the motorcycle carrying them and fled.
Both were seriously injured when they fell off the motorcycle on the road. The locals rescued them after seeing them lying on the road in critical condition. Both were taken to Zahirul Haque Medical College Hospital in Bajitpur. Nasir Uddin Khan died while undergoing treatment there. Rajiv was admitted there in a critical condition.
