Recovering from life-threatening acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) at a Delhi Hospital, former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has received wishes for a speedy recovery from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Sidhu, also an active politician with Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was admitted to Delhi’s Indrapastha Apollo Hospital on Tuesday after developing a blood clot.
“Dear @sherryontopp ji, get well soon. You are a fighter & will overcome the illness in your trademark style. Our prayers are with you,” the PM tweeted on Wednesday.
Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and is reportedly in a stable condition.
“Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Delhi today evening with acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This is a life-threatening condition if not treated on time. Mr Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and has been recovering well. His condition is said to be stable as of now,” said a statement issued by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital authorities on Tuesday evening.
