Narayanganj fire victim dies at DMCH

A man was burnt to death in a fire and explosion caused by a leak in a gas cylinder at a flat in West Masdai area of Narayanganj city.
Mishal, 28, succumbed to injuries at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Five others including children of the deceased family member are in critical condition, said the burn institute residential
medical officer Dr Partha Shanker Paul. He said that Mishal received 90 percent burn injuries and he breathed his last around 2:30 am.
Earlier, the fire broke out on 6th floor of a six-storey building around 12:30 am at Masdair Patanger more area in Fatullah, said Station officer of Mondolpara fire service Belal Hossain.
The injured were Mishal, 28, a garment worker, his wife Mita, 23, their one and a half year old child Minhaj and Mishal’s two brother-in-law- Mahfuz and Sajib.
Neighbors extinguished the blaze before the fire fighters reached the spot.
Fire Service officials said that the accident took place from gas line leakages.
Dr Partha said that five of the injured were in critical condition as they sustained burns at major parts of their bodies. The deceased one and a half year old son Minhaj has 45 per cent burns while Mahfuz 85 per cent burns, Sabbir 45 per cent, Mita 15 and Afsana 10 per cent burns.
