A lecture titled “Najenda-Aziz Trust Lecture-2018” was held recently at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). DU VC Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman attended it as chief guest. Former Chairman of Bangladesh National Human Rights Commission and Professor of DU Law Department Dr Mizanur Rahman delivered the lecture on “Human Rights, Human Welfare and Bangladesh Perspective”.
Presided over by DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin the function was also addressed by DU Arts Faculty Dean Prof Dr Abu Md. Delwar Hossain as special guest, Prof Dr Galib Ahsan Khan and Prof Dr AKM Harunar Rashid.
DU VC Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman paid tributes to the memory of Najenda Akter and Azizur Rahman Khan. He thanked Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman for presenting an excellent lecture on human rights and human welfare. Our students will be highly benefited and inspired by this lecture to uphold human rights in Bangladesh, DU VC added.
Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman said, Bangladesh witnessed massive economical, social and cultural achievement and development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It is not possible to ensure human welfare without upholding of human rights, he pointed out.
