An allround performance by Nahidul Islam saw Legends of Rupganj to record an emphatic seven-wicket victory over Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Saturday at BKSP ground in Savar.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 185 runs set by Sheikh Jamal, Rupganj hardly had to sweat as they comfortable reached home in 32.5 overs with seven wickets in hand. First down Nahidul played an impressive knock of 92 runs off 99 balls laced with nine boundaries and three over boundaries while Junaid Siddique supported him with a priceless knock 53 runs.
Abdur Rahman, Mahmudullah and Masud Rana all shared one wicket each.
Earlier, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were dismissed at a paltry total of 184 in 45 overs, after they were forced to bat first by Rupganj.
Middle order batsman Nazmus Sadat scored 41 runs followed by Mahmudullah (35), and Sohag Gazi (31).
Taijul Islam and Murad Khan were the pick of Rupganj bowlers taking three wickets each for 29 and 48 runs while Alauddin Babu and Nahidul Islam shared two wickets apiece.
Nahidul Islam of Rupganj was named the player of the match for his all round performance.
