Nahid warns against extra admission fees for HSC students

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday said action will be taken if college authorities take extra admission fees from HSC first year students this year.
“If any college takes extra fees the money has to be returned to students. Action will be taken following investigation if any one is found guilty,” he said.
The minister was talking to reporters at his office at the secretariat.
Nahid said, the college authorities at a meeting with the education ministry promised not to charge any extra admission fees.
The 2014-15 admission rules bar a college under MPO in Dhaka metropolitan not to charge over tk 5000 from a student, College under partial MPO cannot charge over Tk 9000 besides development fee tk 3000 from a student.
