Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the new generation would have to be made efficient and quailed in modern education by changing the conventional academic curriculums.
He said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar organized by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Maritime University, the first of its kind in the country, at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel in the city.
The education minister said a qualitative change in conventional education is required for building a modern, science-based and technology-dependent digital Bangladesh.
Knowledge and efficiency are required to build efficient manpower keeping pace with the developed world, he added.
The seminar on ‘Global Maritime Challenges and Role of Maritime Higher Education in Bangladesh’ was attended by Naval Chief Vice Admiral M. Farid Habib, Shipping Secretary Syed Manzurul Islam and Maritime University Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral ASM Abdul Baten as special guests.
