Nahid expresses optimism of resolving teachers’ problems

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the present government is sincerely working for removing any discrimination and problems of teachers in order to enhance their professional dignity in the society.
“I am very much optimistic of solving any problem of teachers through discussion,” he told the fourth national teachers’ conference on Friday in the auditorium of Ahsanullah Science and Technology University here.
Bangladesh Literacy Association is organizing the two-day national teachers’ conference with a slogan “Achieving professional excellence”.
Vice Chancellor of Ahsanullah Science and Technology Kazi Rafiqul Islam and Executive Director of Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) Rasheda K. Choudhury, among others, addressed the conference with President of the association and Chairman of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Kazi Rafiqul Islam in the chair.
Nahid said a committee for removing salary discrimination of teachers has been formed and it will start working very soon to resolve the problems.
“Teachers are main driving force of the education sector. So, we are giving importance to enhance professional dignity by increasing salaries and others facilities,” he added.
The education urged teachers to perform their duties with honesty and dedication to make sure a congenial academic atmosphere in the educational area.
