A match-winning unbeaten knock by Shariar Nafees saw Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to post an overwhelming seven-wicket victory over Brothers Union Club in their fifth round match of Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) held on Monday at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan Ground no 4 in Savar.
Chasing the winning target of 220 runs set by Brothers Union Club, Sheikh Jamal DC easily reached to their target making 221 in 48.4 overs.
Former national color Nafees played an impressive knock of 75 runs to finish the chase with Liam A. Dawson who scored 14, after opener Myshukur Rahman contributed with a priceless knocks of 87 runs.
Avishek Mitra, Ahmed Sadiqur and Denly Joseph Liam took one wicket each conceding 26, 32 and 36 runs respectively.
Earlier, Brothers Union Club scored a decent total of 219 for 8 from their allotted 50 overs, after they opted to bat first.
To order batsman Yasir Ali top scored with 34 runs followed by Roman Ahmed with 34 and Joseph Liam with 30.
Sajib Dutta caused the major damage for Brothers Union taking four wickets for 40 runs. He was well supported by Nahidul Islam who bagged two wickets giving away 40 runs.
Besides, Mehedi Hasan and Liam A Dawson took one wicket each conceding 23 and 46 runs respectively.
