Magnificent ton by Naeem Islam and Farhad Hossain saw North Zone denied South Zones deserving victory in the fourth round of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League held on Wednesday at BKSP ground in Savar.
Being forced to follow on by South Zone, North Zone resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Wednesday) with overnight score at 154 for 2 and scored 403 for 8 at stumps on the last day of the play.
Naeem scored a super unbeaten knock of 129-run off 243 balls laced with 11 boundaries and one over boundary while Farhad supported him also with an impressive innings of 119-run off 246-ball that studded nine boundaries and three over boundaries.
Nahidul Islam of South Zone finished his spell with five wickets conceding 130 runs.
Earlier, North Zone was all out their first innings at 242 in reply to a South Zone massive first innings total of 501 runs.
Tushar Imran of South Zone was named the player of the match for his impressive double hundred in the match.
