Nabanna Utsav, the festival of new crop, celebrated by the rural people of Bangladesh, begins tomorrow, the 1st day of Agrahayan, a month of Bengali calendar.
Soon after harvest starts, the farmers return homes with loads of golden paddy. This is a joyous time in the villages. The women of the family make different types of home-made cake of rice flour. Relatives come from one village to another to enjoy and share the happiness of the farmers.
The Nabanna Utsav is celebrated all over the country where people of towns and cities also gather to join the village people to have the taste of rural atmosphere and know the Bengali culture and heritage.
Ratnodweep Resort, a newly-built five-star hotel and resort in Pabna, has also taken some significant initiatives to celebrate the auspicious event of Bengali folk life in order to add a new feather in the crown of the city of Pabna.
