Mystery shrouds the death of Afsana Ferdous, 24, a final-year student of architecture at Mirpur’s SAIC Institute of Management and Technology, whose body was sent to a city hospital by some unidentified killers.
Family members and friends of the victim alleged that she was killed being raped in the city on Saturday.
Police after primary investigation also said that Afsana had been strangled with a rope after rape.
Her body was dropped at Emergency Department
of Al-Helal Hospital by two men. Afsana’s maternal uncle and cousins finally on Sunday identified her body at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
According to police, they have seized the CCTV footage from Al-Helal Hospital and to identify the two men who had taken the girl’s body there on Saturday.
It is alleged that Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Tejgaon College unit Organising Secretary Habibur Rahman Robin was involved in the murder. The Bangladesh Chhatar Union city unit yesterday staged demonstration seeking exemplary punishment of the killers.
