Senior lawyers of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Wednesday decided to appear before the court no 1 of the Appellate division of the Supreme Court at 9:00am to know about the position of Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha.
They thought that the mystery regard to the Chief Justice should be cleared to the nation. That is why they will also seek directions from the court about meeting with the Chief Justice.
They took this decision in a meeting held at the conference room of the SCBA building. After the meeting senior advocate and also President of the bar Zainul Abedin and bar Secretary Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokan briefed the journalists.
The Senior Lawyers also decided to send a delegation again to meet with the Chief Justice. Justice Khademul Islam Chowdhury would lead the delegation, the bar leaders briefed.
Former Law Minister Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Justice Khademul Islam, Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Justice Abdul Awal, former Attorney General A J Mohammad Ali, former President of the SCBA Khandker Mahbub Hossain, Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Advocate Sanaullah Mia, Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder were present in the meeting, among others.
The Senior Lawyers would keep continue their meeting even today (Thursday) in this regard.
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha went on one month leave from Tuesday. The Law Minister told this to the journalists. But CJ’s sudden leave after a long vacation of the Supreme Court raised questions.
The Senior Lawyers thought that if the Chief Justice went on leave on medical ground then why he had been inaccessible? Why the lawyers’ leaders were prevented to meet him? They thought that the judges were also silent in this regard. But the mystery regard to the Chief Justice should be cleared.
In this circumstances the Senior Lawyers sitting in meeting for two days. Already they expressed their deep concern in this regard.
