Mymensingh and Thakurgaon districts reached the final of the JFA U-14 National Women’s Football Championship eliminating their rivals in the semifinals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.
The two unbeaten teams-Mymensingh and Thakurgaaon–will battle with each other for the women’s junior soccer crown at 3 pm on Friday at the same venue.
Earlier in the day’s semifinal, Mymensingh DFA smartly booked a seat for the final eliminating Rajshahi DFA by 4-0 goals.
Rony Akhter made a hat-trick scoring three goals in the 11th, 23rd and 68th minutes while Salma Akhter netted the other goal for Mymensingh in the 26th minute.
In the day’s other semifinal, Thakurgaon DFA managed a final berth overcoming Tangail DFA by 3-1 goals in penalty shoot out as the match was locked in 1-1 goals in the stipulated period.
In the schedule time, Kalpana put Thakurgaon ahead in the very 3rd minute while Ila Moni restored the parity for Tangail DFA in the 44th minute.
