At least seven people were killed and 15 others injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Meherabari in Bhaluka upazila on Saturday. Three of the deceased were identified as Abdul Motaleb,40, Fazlul Haque, 47, and Nowshed, 35. Local police said the accident took place around 6 am when the Dhaka-bound bus hit a sand-laden stationary truck from behind and tumbled into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two people killed on the spot and 22 others injured. Six of the injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where five more people died. Police seized both the vehicles. – Mymensingh, Nov 7 (UNB)
