Mymensingh Kalsindur Govt. Primary School clinched the Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnessa Mujib Gold Cup Primary School Football title for the 2nd consecutive time beating Rangpur Polycharra Govt. Primary School 1-0 in the final at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
Rozina scored the match-winning goal for the champions in the 45th minute in the final of the 4th version of the meet this afternoon
In Bangabandhu Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament, Jaintiapur Korgram Govt. Primary School of Sylhet emerged as the new champions beating Pekua Foyzunnesa Govt. Primary School of Cox’s Bazar by 3-0 goals in the final at the same venue Monday afternoon.
Nazimuddin, Ziaur and Mamun scored one each for the champions in the final of the 5th version of the meet.
Champion teams of both the tournaments received a prize money of Tk, 1,00,000 each, runners-up teams got a pize money Tk 75,000 each.
Abdur Rahim of the champions Sylhet School team named as the best players of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup while Rozina of the champions Mymensingh team was adjudged the best player of the Bangamata Gold Cup to receive prize money of Tk 25,000 each and Trophy.
Nazimuddin of Sylhet School team named as the highest scorer of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup with eight goals to receive prize money of Tk 25,000 alongside a trophy.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Mustafizur Rahman, MP was the chief guest in the finals of both Bangabandhu Gold Cup for the boys and Bangamata Gold Cup for the girls and later he distributed the prizes.
A record 10,78,038 budding footballers from 63,414 schools participated in he Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football while 10, 66,478 promising players from 62,734 schools took part in the Bangamata Gold Cup Football, started from grassroot-level of Union/Pourashava level.
