Mymensingh District smartly reached the semifinal of the JFA Under-14 National Women’s Football Championship from Group A with one match to spare beating Khulna District by a massive 16-0 goals at the BFF artificial turf here on Monday.
Marzia and Sanjida made the 3rd and 4th hattricks in the tournament scoring five and four goals respectively. Shamsun Nahar and Sajeda struck two goals each while Maria Manda and Tohura scored one each for the winners. The remaining goal was suicidal one.
Mymensingh DFA will play their remaining Group A match against Satkhira DFA on Wednesday, results of which will not hamper their semifinal berth.
The day’s other Group A match between Satkhira and Dinajpur DFAs ended in a goalless draw at the same venue.
Eight qualified district teams, split into two groups, are taking part in the final round of the meet at BFF Artificial Turf here.
Participating teams: Group A – Mymensingh, Satkhira, Khulna and Dinajpur DSAs. Group B – Narayanganj, Rangpur, Tangail and Rajshahi DSAs.
Later, two top teams from each of the groups will play in the semifinals on July 31 while the final match will be held on August 2 at 4:30 pm.
