Myanmar’s government is striving to build up digital economy by upgrading all national sectors into digital one, official media reported Saturday.
To promote development in social affairs, education, health and economy by the use of digital technology and to foster Myanmar as a digital hub of ASEAN region, a Digital Economy Development Committee was formed to perform the tasks of effective implementation of national economic policies, provision of governmental support for the emergence of digital economy in the country.
Vice President U Henry Van Thio stressed the need to upgrade the economic infrastructure and human resources as the first stage to build up the digital economy gradually in the country. At the second stage, advice is to be sought from international leading technological companies, inviting international investments and technological support to encourage the emergence of startup companies for becoming a digital hub of ASEAN region in a targeted period, the vice president added.
