Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar Navy Admiral Zeya Kyaw Htin Thura Thet Swe on Monday called on his Bangladesh counterpart Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Farid Habib at Naval Headquarters at Banani here. During the meeting, the two chiefs discussed various issues related to bilateral cooperation and mutual interest based on marine safety and security, an ISPR press release said here.
Earlier on his arrival at the navy headquarters, the neighbour country’s Navy chief was given a guard of honour by a smart contingent of Bangladesh Navy.
Later, the Myanmar Navy Chief paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army staff, Chief of Air Staff and Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division at the Dhaka Cantonment. Admiral Swe also visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the capital.
The Myanmar Navy Chief will leave Dhaka on May 8.
