Myanmar and India have vowed to cooperate in trade and investment sectors as well as in upgrading the socio-economic life of people along the border, Myanmar News Agency reported Friday.
It was focussed when Myanmar President U Win Myint met with visiting Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj in Nay Pyi Taw Thursday shortly after the latter’s arrival.
Bilateral relations between the two countries, development in Rakhine state and Myanmar’s peace process were also discussed during their meeting, the report said.
Swaraj arrived the Myanmar capital earlier on Thursday on a two-day official visit which is also part of exchange of reciprocal visits at high level between the two countries.
Swaraj will also meet other Myanmar leaders and have talks on regional and international matters as well as making review on the development of decision laid down during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Myanmar in September last year, according to a release of the Indian Embassy.
