Xinhua, Yangon :
Myanmar allows two more foreign companies to conduct exploration and production of oil and gas at three blocks of its offshore areas, officials said Sunday.
Under the production sharing contracts with the state-run Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), Dutch giant Shell and Japan ‘s Mitsui Oil Exploration Co. Ltd Group are permitted to work at AD-9 and AD-11 blocks off Rakhine coast and MD-5 blocks off Taninthayi coast.
In last December, Myanmar signed similar contracts with three Indian companies and a Singapore-based company to explore oil and gas in the Mottama offshore blocks M-4 and M-8.
